With their record standing at 0-3 the Cougars of All Saints were hoping for a timely victory at long last. The All Saints Cougars arrived at the site of the upcoming engagement with high morale, ready for the crusade to begin. The bundled up Cougar fans tried to keep warm as they prepare to watch this epic clash between the Buena Vista Knights and the Cougars.

After meeting the Knights captains mid-field, and losing the coin toss, the Cougars prepare to defend the field as Captain Ben Latoki (#20) tells the team, "Don't give anything back". The Buena Vista captains had chosen to begin the game on the offensive in an attempt to break our steeled determination.

After kicking off, the Cougars phalanx managed to shut down the Knights merciless charge around midfield. But then to the disbelief of the expectant crowd, on the second play of the game the Knights delivered a disheartening blow to Cougar defense as a short pass resulted in a 64 yard run to a touchdown. As the Knights completed a two point conversion the Cougars, once again, seemed to be staring defeat in the eyes.

Coach Bisel called an All Saints time out to get his team motivated. Meanwhile the crowd's mood is dismal as they watch what they thought would end up to be another blowout loss. But the offense had a few surprises in store as the Cougars scored their own touchdown and two-point conversion before the first quarter was even over.

Then again in the early second quarter, after the Cougars recovered a Knight fumble, they scored yet another touchdown to break the tie. Regrettably the P.A.T. was blocked, but the Cougars were ahead at the half 14-8.

During half time, the freezing All Saints students showed their renewed spirits, and their smiles, as they cheered their team on, hoping the ASC Captains could muster the strength the team needed to seize the coveted win. Before half time was over Coach Jeff Bisel told his team, "We've been lucky so far. We're giving them too many chances, and we've got to shut that down".

As the third quarter began, with new found hope for a win, the spirit of the All Saints fans was almost devastated as the Knights recovered a Cougar fumble and came unbearably close to scoring. But the Cougars weren't giving up yet! In fact, they were just getting started. The unyielding Cougar defense not only kept the Knights at bay, but forced them to lose yards, as they pushed them back into Buena Vista territory!

The Knights offense tried to crash through the battlements of the All Saints defense in a desperate attempt to score. The Cougars offense took over and in turn routed the ragtag team of Knights and dominated the forth quarter, racking up their score with two touchdowns, a two point conversion, plus a PAT.

The All Saints Cougars carried the day with a final score of 29-8. The ASC main combatants of the night were Kevin Bisel (#11) who had 131 rushing yards and delivered three touchdowns; Marc Kwapiaszewski (#36) with 50 yards, and Aaron Janer (#33) who added 8 points to the total. BJ Weaver (#85) summed it up pretty well when, after the conquest had come to a decisive end he stated, "Coach gave us a good pep talk during half time. We came out, and did what we had to do".
