Bay City, MI: The Labadie Pig Gig Presented by State Farm Insurance held their after-event celebration recently at the Labadie Auto Dealership out on Euclid Avenue in Bay City, Michigan.

Wendy Dore, Event Organizer, announced during the celebration: "On behalf of the Labadie Pig Gig Presented by State Farm, we are proud to announce that the 2007 event generated over $65,000.00 for area charities."

Dore thanked sponsors and anyone that helped with various fundraising activities. Dore named specifically the generous sponsors and hard working volunteers that made the event so successful for another.

"Bay City Vet's Park was once again the setting for a successful event," Dore said.

Dore thanked everyone for a great year - from local media celebrities who gave their all in the Celebrity Rib Cook-Off to charity volunteers who spent the day setting up tables & chairs, manning the kid's craft area, selling Strawberry Shortcake and picking up all those rib bones, the hard work of all our volunteers made the 2007 Labadie Pig Gig presented by State Farm one to remember.

The Celebrity Cook-Off, a festival favorites, was just one of the many activities that helped raise funds for the participating charities.

In 15 years, Labadie Pig Gig has contributed over $670,000 to the recipient charities.

Dore offered special thanks to the Labadie Company for their continued support and title sponsorship of the Labadie Pig Gig. Dore said that State Farm Insurance has also contributed to the success of the event through their presenting sponsorship.

Our other major supporting sponsors include Covenant Health Care and Meijer. Our media partners deserve special thanks as well. We are most grateful to all the sponsors of the event who have shown their commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs and all the other worthwhile charities.

Charities that will be benefiting include: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County, Boys & Girls Club Auxiliary, The American Red Cross, Bay Arenac Community Living, Bay County Vietnam Veterans Monument Committee, Cory Place, Bay Area Special Olympics, Literacy Council of Bay County, The Johnny Burke Children's Foundation, The Nathan Weidner Children's Advocacy Center, Studio 23, Santa House, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, The Bay County Hockey Association, The Bay County Womens' Center & Boy Scout Troop 111, St. James Elementary School Fund, The Explorer Group, The Mid-Michigan Children's Museum and Crime Stoppers.

In a prepared statement, the Pig Gig announced: "Marc & Gary Labadie of the Labadie Company and Wendy Dore, Event Founder, wish to express their gratitude to all of the affiliated organizations and sponsors that have helped to expand the success of the Labadie Pig Gig presented by State Farm.. We are proud to be able to make this contribution to our community charities," the press release concluded.
