By halftime Friday night in Midland, the Dow Chargers looked beat.

With the Wolves up 21-0 the Chargers knew they were in for a long night.

Central had done their damage by the half and platooned many players in the second half. The final score read 28-14 but it was never close; the Chargers didn't even score until three minutes left in the game.

Although the defense set the tone for the night, the offense was quietly doing their job in an efficient manner finishing with 305 yards in total offense.

By dominating the line of scrimmage it opened up the chance for Central to show off their big play potential, both on offense and defense.

The biggest play of the night was by Trenton Robinson, a 108 yard kick return for a touchdown that was called back. "The referees didn't even blow the whistle, " said Kirk Byington, a Central players father, "I don't think they knew what to call," he added.

It's a new rule this year, any kick that crosses the end zone is an automatic touchback, but the play on the field was live and it looked as good as it sounds.

The Wolves just reloaded and went to work. Robinson scored the first touchdown from ten yards out, then Trenton Martin hooked up with Alex Bush for a 56 yard TD toss.

Then for the second week in a row Justin Reed picked off a pass and raced 60 yards to the house. Also scoring for Central was Nick Thomson who grabbed a Dow fumble and raced 43 yards to the end zone.

The defensive line was the catalyst for the victory, and seems to be getting tougher every week. Dow was held to 40 yards rushing the whole night forcing them to pass, which lead to Reed's defensive score.

Dow quarterback Kyle Partlo finished with 222 yards passing on 18 of 42 attempts and was Dow's leading rusher with just 26 yards. Next week the Wolves travel to Heritage to attempt to keep their hot and mean streak alive.###
