Readers in the tri-city area and worldwide now have access to more than 2,200 articles, indexed daily by Google, posted by MyBayCity.com over the past four years.

"We are proud to reach this milestone that has resulted in millions of page visits to the MyBayCity.com news site," said O.J. Cunningham, publisher.

Cunningham says that over 2,000,000 pages are now viewed on MyBayCity on an annual basis. MyBayCity.com now publishes twice a week - Sunday night and either Wednesday or Thursday. "There is so much going on in Bay City," Cunningham added, "That once-a-week was just not often enough.

OJ Advertising (OJA) (Parent Company) staffers are fully involved in the production of MyBayCity. OJA General Manager Julie Munger keeps tabs on the Entertainment going on in Bay City.

Karen Polega publishes "Karen's Korner" each week and helps readers find interesting and helpful links on the Internet. Dave Rogers and O.J. Cunningham cover most of the "hard news" but are more likely to focus on the good things going on in Bay City and let the Bad News Media handle the death and doom.

And if it's photographs of Bay City that interest you, Steve Kent's camera is always clicking away, capturing the local flavor of the people and places in Bay City/Bay County.

MyBayCity has over 3,000 subscribers. Each subscriber to MyBayCity.com receives an automated e-mail whenever an issue is published.

Advertising is by banners, displays that can stand on their own or act as a "click through" to the advertiser's website.

Some of the articles published through the years include one on 4 July 2002 by O.J. Cunningham entitled Twenty-six Years Later - A New Electronic Publication - Coming Full Circle." Mr. Cunningham revisited 5 July 1976 when he was the lone staff member launching The Bay County Sports Page. That publication morphed into The Bay City Enterprise that was published for nearly a decade.

On 20 July 2003 a photo of the old Shearer Building illustrated an article on downtown development headlined "Downtown Bay City Fights Back With New Buildings, History, Specialty Shops." The article highlighted downtown condominium living in places like the renovated Shearer Building, the new DoubleTree Hotel, the renovated State Theatre, and the Pere Marquette Union Station Depot for which restoration is now well underway.

"Those are the kinds of articles that we especially like -- ones that point out the positive aspects of Bay City, and living in Bay City," said Mr. Cunningham. "That depicts the spirit of MyBayCity.com; it's a community resource and a development tool as well as advertising and news."

"Star Spangled Dinner Boosts Naval Ship Museum," was the headline on a 11 April 2003 article reporting on the visit of retired Lt. Gen. Martin Steele to a fund-raising dinner for the USS Edson project that aims to bring a museum-ready destroyer to a Saginaw River dock as a tourist attraction.

Bay City's recent focus on tourism was the subject of an 18 December 2002 article with the headline "Ghosts Are Bay City's Latest Tourist Draw." The article told of how the Bay Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Bay County Historical Museum had initiated ghost tours in 2001 and drew three dozen tour buses and about 1,750 tourists.

The ghost tours were mentioned in the Detroit Free Press by travel editor Gerry Volgenau who did a major article on the tours for his newspaper.
