After a repeat of the tragic loss to the Pinconning Spartans on Monday, the All Saints Cougars were hoping for a redeeming game this weekend. The first of the Cougar's Christmas Crusades took place at Reese, and pitted the Cougars against the Reese Rockets.

After the Cougar's JV team emerged victorious against the Reese Rocket's JV team, the Cougar Varsity was planning on doing the same. However the Varsity scoreboard would tell a different story only a few hours later.

The Reese Rockets took advantage of every weakness in the Cougar's defense and offense and exploited them to the fullest. Lacking the fire they had last week at home, the Cougars' sluggish offense took a slap in the face by the veteran defenders of the Rockets.

Rockets Score again

Using every ounce of talent they possessed, the Cougars just barely managed to hang on. At the half the score hung at a disheartening 29-14 with the Cougar fans still hoping for a miracle second half comeback.

During the halftime break, the Cougar fans talked among themselves about the chances the Cougars had, while the Reese pom pon squad performed their Christmas routine for their ecstatic school mates.

The Cougars came back on the court with a new strategy. Out-manned, and outgunned, the Cougars decided it was time to play the game a little more physically. Valiantly persisting against the Rockets with their intimidating lead, the Cougars managed to stay with the Rockets but just didn't have the strength to make up the half-time deficit.

The Cougars lost 60-43. Despite that though, the Cougars gained a lot of knowledge from this game. Forced to play physical, the Cougars now know what its going to take to win on the road this season. The Cougars will play twice more away, before returning home on the 4th of the New Year.
