Rotary Holds Annual Holiday Program

The club celebrated the season last Tuesday with the traditional Holiday Program featuring a number of club members and singing by the entire group.

As a reminder, this was the last meeting of 2007. No meeting will be held either Christmas or New Year's Day as those fall on Tuesday.

Happy Holidays to all from the Breezes editors. See you next year!

Lee and Molly Newton played a beautiful Christmas duet. On May 10, 2008 the Newton's will give a concert at John Glen High School. The Garber bands will also perform. Proceeds will be split between Rotary and the Garber Band. Everyone should reserve the date!
Barb Fisher, who with Daughter Amy have a huge collection of Night Before Christmas books, gave her annual reading of the famous poem. The book she read from is one of the latest in her collection. A retired Bay City Librarian, Barb does a great job of reading children's stories and, of course, her favorite poem.
Rob Clark, accompanied by Maestro Leo Najar, reprised the swinging version of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer that he recently performed at the Bijou Orchestra's Holiday Pops.
Radio and Television Weatherman Eric Jyhla read a scientific explanation of exactly how Santa is able to deliver all his gifts on Christmas Eve. The talk included a detailed estimation of the number of children and gifts, the weight, size, and thermal characteristics of reindeer and sleigh, and the latest theoretical understanding of travel at near light speed combined with the rotational properties of the Earth.

Rob Clark wrapped up the program by assigning a "day of Christmas" to each table and leading the assembly in singing "The 12 Days of Christmas."
