The Wolves were subdued most of the night in their match up against the Warriors Tuesday night.

The Wolves came roaring back against a determined bunch of Warriors though.

After sticking around most of the night, always trailing but never going away, the Wolves tied up the game at 35 with 2:47 left.

After trailing 2-8 at the end of the first then 10-20 at half-time, then 25-31 after the third, the Wolves pressured the Warriors ball relentlessly as the possession arrow bounced back and forth whenever there was a gold verses white tie up.

Both defenses played aggressively from the outset of the tip-off, and it was a culmination of that pressure that knotted the score at 37-37 at the end of regulation.

Central actually had their first and only lead of the game as Danette Decorte who led the Wolves with 16 hit a tough shot to make it 37-35, but that's only when the drama started.

With 1:27 left on the clock just after Western hit a bucket to tie it up coach Kim Klein called time-out to prepare her defense. Wolves coach Todd Thunberg set up his play but after the inbounds pass the Warrior defense tightened and stopped any inside attack whereas Thunberg began screaming for "last shot, last shot" and called his Wolves out towards half court to get the last shot for the win.

The Wolves burned seconds off the clock passing and dribbling with extra care until they called time out with 10.2 seconds with the game tied and the ball.

It seemed the Wolves were poised to steal this game from the Warriors, who led the whole game, until they inbounded the ball.

It seemed that the Wolves' Jade Grudzinski's momentum carried her over the half court line as she struggled to get open on the side out and was passed the ball just as she crossed half court then dribbled back into her side of the court as the referee whistled her for over and back.

Coach Klein abruptly called time out with just 8.11 seconds left, tie game and Warrior ball.

The inbounds pass was good, the pass into the paint was good, but the Wolves defense did not allow a shot off.

Game tied 37-37, with both teams getting their chance to win gone.

Free throws turned out to be a huge factor in the overtimes as Decorte fouled out with 3:21 left in the first overtime.

Sara Kernstock of Western scored all six points in the extra period and seemed to have culled the Wolves comeback until Megan Charlebois drilled a deep three with 44 seconds left to force another overtime.

In the second overtime the Warriors Devon Martin decided it was her turn to fight back the Wolves as she iced a three to start the stanza.

Centrals tomahawk chop shot blocking phenom Sara Skornia then fouled out with 2:47 left trying to stop Martin on a base line drive who then made her second free throw to put the Warriors up by four.

Two more Warrior buckets off turnovers then Martin iced two more free throws to seal the win 56-45.

The Warriors won't have much time to savor the win as they have league foes Heritage and Midland Dow while the Wolves host Flint Northern Friday night.
