The Warriors leader Tuesday night was the same kid who led them all fall, Corey Arnold.

Arnold knows a thing or two about pressure. Arnold never could have been the Warrior starting quarterback in the Saginaw Valley League without handling "the pressure."

The cold front that showed up Wednesday morning must have passed over Arnold early because he had ice in his veins the last couple minutes of Westerns big win.

In addition to two clutch free throws with under ten seconds to go, Arnold also scored the Warriors previous five points to negate a two point lead from a Chemic uprising.

Midland tried to snatch this one away at the end after Western lead for most of the entire game.

The steely junior took control with a deuce after Midland went up by one.

Then with just over a minute left, Midland canned a three to go up two, Arnold rose to the occasion by nailing his own "triple" on the next trip down to put the Warriors back up by one.

The Chemics had no other choice but to foul. But they fouled the hottest hand on the floor in Arnold who finished them off.

"It was a tight all through the game; we were down with two minutes to go when Corey hit a three pointer. That got us back on track and we went on to win." said Western coach Chris Watz.

"This was a very significant win for us. This win will help us in building our basketball program," added coach Watz.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, it will not show up in their conference win column, as the 5-9 Warriors are still 0-6 in the very tough SVL.

The first game against the 7-6 Chemics, a 67-54 loss was their conference match while Friday the Warriors take on Flint Northern still looking for their first conference win.

Arnold lead the Warriors with 13 while Chad Jasman and Travis Tithof each contributed eight.
