Are you into midnight fishing?

Do you love the smell of Deet in the morning?
Do mosquitos bother you when they buzzzzzzzz in your ear?

Do you know what hours the Dairy Queen is open in Rose City?

If you answered 'yes'to any of those questions . . .
you might be suffering from a case of Hex Fever. There is no cure. I should know. I've got it bad.

And . . .

I know who i caught it from . . . A Pox on you, Dan Schmidt.

Take this short quiz to find out if you have Hex Fever . . . I'll provide answers and appropriate discussion at the end of this column.

And hey! -- No PEEKING . . . I know your IP Address . . .

Pop Quiz . . .

Here's the answers . . .

1) E - None of the Above
2) E - None of the Above
3)E - None of the Above
4) E - None of the Above

If you actually know more than two of the answers above, I've probably seen you on a Michigan stream in late June casting at the sound of slurping fish as the big'uns gorge themselves on the giant mayflies. See Related Fly Fishing Article Here.

For the Record: Hexagenia Limbata is the sweet fishfood morsel visible on the lower left corner of this web page . Gink is a magical substance that allows hex imitations to float on the water no mater how wet they get. It's actually mystical. Tippet is the last piece of fly line material that is attached to the fly itself. Tippet is measured in the most delerious manner: (7x = 2lb test; 5x = 3lb test; 3x = 8lb test; 0x = 15lb test) Got That? I hate tippet. Parmalee to the Whirlpool is a drift boat float trip between Parmalee Bridge to the Whirlpool on the AuSable River up stream from Mio.

If you're looking for me around midnight in late June / early July, call my cell phone. I probably won't answer because I'm on the river in search of the famous Michigan Brown Trout. And I have Sprint. Sprint has no tower to serve Michigan above Rose City.

Can I hear you now? NO!.

But I sure can hear that big bruiser of a brown trout feeding just a bit up stream.

See ya out there . . . Hex Fever . . . Yup! . . . I got it!
