The night began on a good note for the Cougars Monday. The Cougar JV team added another win to their record with an amazing 62-25 victory over the JV Wildcats. Following suit, the Varsity Cougars hoped to earn retribution for last weeks defeat to the Lakers, by also delivering a blowout win in front of the small, yet expecting crowd.

Right from the get-go the Cougars surged ahead and never let up during the nights match-up. As Coach Showalter said after the game, "It was our defense that held them off and gave us the lead". As testament to this statement the Cougars defense only let 11 points past them in the first period. The first period only hinted at what was to come in the rest of the game.

In the second and third periods, 46 of All Saint's 76 points were added to the board. As the Wildcats stood by, powerless due to the Cougars overpowering defense, ASC would surge ahead to establish a daunting lead of 40-24 that nearly assured the Cougars a victory.

Unwilling to give up, the Wildcats never stopped playing their best; but it was far too late to overtake the Cougars. The Cougars continued to dominate the game making shot after shot. However, Wildcats, such as Brett Beckett (#22) refused to hand themselves on a silver platter without a fight. Beckett led the charge against the Cougars and scored 20 points. However the Wildcats didn't expect to come up against Mario Walker (#34). Walker would be the lead scorer with 14 points, and would be unparalleled on the defensive side of the court. Walker along with Preston Oakes (13 points) and Aaron Janer (12 points) were the defining edge that shut down the Wildcats fourth period blitz.

Using what may have been the last of their strength, the Wildcats unleashed a series of successful plays that just barely put them within striking distance of the Cougars. However it was too late in the game to overtake the Cougars; and the Cougars shut them down and finished with a incredible 76-55 victory.
