The Clock Doctor recently moved one business East in the Historical Midland Street district to 805 E. Midland St.

At age 15, Terry Kasper enjoyed assembling model cars. Taking notice, Terry's father Lawrence suggested he try his hand at assembling a watch, which he did the first time, just like a pro!

"Your a natural", said Lawrence Kasper, Terry's father.

The Clock Doctor has a combined 40 years experience fixing our "time tellers" when they get the "flu" and selling quality new products to our community. The Clock Doctor began it's journey as a family owned business with Terry's brother and father and has now become a staple to the entire state of Michigan for the past two decades.

Over the years, customers have flocked to Bay City, Michigan to have the "Doc" fix their clock! Recently a client traveled 5 states to bring his clock here to be repaired. Why, you might ask?

Because The Clock Doctor is one of few throughout the United States that repairs existing movements, without replacing them. In fact, The Clock Doctor has done all repair work for The Village Store in Frankenmuth for the past decade.

"We have the largest selection of Cuckoo Clocks in the state of Michigan. Terry has been doing our repair work for close to a decade now, we wouldn't use anyone else, we have been extremely happy with his work", says Doug Stoner, owner of The Village Store.

This "clock fixing family" began it's experience in a "not so familiar to today's generation" manner. Years ago, when Terry's father Lawrence was called to "duty" for World War II, it was discovered during his physical that he had Tuberculosis. Back in those days, you were incarcerated for such a disease and he was, for a period of 5 long years. It was during his incarceration, that Lawrence learned the "ropes" of assembling and repairing watches and clocks, experience which he then passed on to his sons.

Before The Clock Doctor was "born", Terry's father worked in Saginaw at McGregor Jewelry setting railroad workers pocket watches. It was imperative that their pocket watches were set for calibration each and every day. Lawrence then continued to do work out of his house before opening The Clock Doctor. To this day, some of the railroad workers still visit and utilize The Clock Doctor's services!

"You must be mechanically inclined to do this type of work. Only 1 in 50 people actually make it through school and continue to work in this industry. It involves patience and the ability to trouble shoot", says Terry.

Terry's other hobby is playing in a band, the "Eye 4 an Eye Vengeance Band". Band members include Terry, "Adolph", Pat Cherry and "Stevie". They have been adorning stages throughout the state since the 1960's. Back then the band was called "The Horizon's". "We used to play at all of the Zilwaukee dances, Delta College, weddings, you name it, we played it!", said Terry.

As seen on the Antique Roadshow, this one of a kind Pedestal clock from the 1800 era, solid oak with Fusee movement including bells and chimes is hand carved right down to the metal hinges! Piece is valued at $8,000.00 and can be purchased at The Clock Doctor for ONLY $4,000.00!
