Wrapping up the rest of our local coverage, Western was the first to fall in the playoffs as they were eliminated by Midland High on Monday 66-53.

After being down by twelve the warriors roared back in the second quarter, outscoring the Chemics 23-7 on their way to a 31-26 halftime lead.

On the back of their talented senior Chad Jasman and his twenty four points the Warrior run was only short lived.

The Chemics Chris O'Brian had the answer for Midland as he scored eleven in the third quarter and also finished with 24.

The game was won on the free throw line as the Chemics went 18-24 from the charity stripe, with many of them in the deciding fourth quarter.

Western finishes the season 6-15.

Also going down in their tournament debut was host Garber as they dropped a 78-67 scoring fest against Freeland (14-7).

Freeland was on pace for 100 as they jumped out to a 25-16 first quarter lead that left the Dukes scrambling to catch them.

They almost did as they narrowed the lead to 28-26 then Freeland went on another run and went up 44-29.

Garber relied on their three year varsity stand out Brett Eichhorn to get them back into the game as he knocked down 16 of his game high 23 points in the second half.

Eichhorn had help from Sean Duchaine who added 14 and Shane O'Mara chipped in nine but it wasn't enough as five Freeland players were in double figures.

The Dukes finish their season at 6-15.
