Last Weeks program - March 4
Club hosts 80+ students on first of two Career Days.

March 4 was the first of the two annual Career Day when Rotarians invite students into their businesses to see the real world of business.

Over 80 students visited businesses on Tuesday. The students at right visited the offices of MyBayCity.com to hear about jobs and opportunities in electronic publishing, reporting and graphic design.

Other students visited a wide variety of businesses from Bangor Veterinary Clinic to accounting services.

The luncheon and meeting presented something of a challenge when a miscommunication led the new management at the Lumber Baron's to expect a smaller than normal crowd when actually there were almost double the normal number.

The wait staff did a great job of getting everyone into the dining rooms downstairs and the chef prepared another wonderful meal. The speakers were a bit challenged finding a place from which to address the room, and there was no sound system, and the program about Rotary's Foreign Exchange Program for High School Students was short, but everyone seemed to have a great time!

In two weeks the club will do this again with twice as many students. Fair warning given!

Mike Stoner announced that the West African Group Study Exchange Team will be here April 13; the Austrian team will arrive the week before and will be working with the Pinconning-Standish club.
