Bay City Bakery opens in "style" Saturday with the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and the Mayor of Bay City present to welcome them to our community!

Owner, Jo Dicksen worked in Frankenmuth at Zehnders and Bavarian Lodge Bakery's for years before venturing out on her own. Jo is a native of the south end of Bay City and teaches Polish and German specialties at Community Education in Essexville-Hampton on cooking and baking technique. Many articles have been written on her and her talents over the years.

Jo owned a sewing business back in the 1990's and taught classes on her sewing technique. At the time she saw a notice for a cookie competition that was held at Zehnders in Frankenmuth and entered. Not only did she win, she was asked if she could teach a class on that particular "invention" and has been teaching ever since!

"Today turned out awesome! So much better than anticipated. The public showing, Chamber members, MyBayCity.com and the "MAYOR" showing up to support us was incredible!", said Jo Dicksen, Owner of the Bay City Bakery.

"I am absolutely thrilled as a new business to have this type of encouragement, it surely reinforces the city of Bay City's support for expansion", says Jo.
