The Friends of Celtic Culture, a Michigan Non-Profit Organization dedicated to the promotion of the arts and culture of the Seven Celtic Nations, is really excited to be presenting a Celtic band new to the Tri-Cities and a new/old historic building to area music fans.

Fonn Mor is the band being brought to Bay City for the first time, and the renovated Blue Room at the Masonic Temple, Madison Avenue and Sixth Street, is the newly-unveiled venue. Extensive remodeling has been done to the three hundred-seat-capacity Blue Room of the century-old temple. The Celtic/Traditional band Fonn Mor will be performing on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. $15 tickets are available at the Heart of Ireland gift shop 914 Washington Avenue, Bay City, 989-891-9413.

Based in West Michigan, Fonn Mor performs at clubs and concerts throughout the Midwest. With a strong instrumental and percussive base, the band presents well-crafted original and traditional songs that evolve into rollicking jigs and reels creating an entertaining experience for all audiences to enjoy. The band successfully blends traditional Celtic folk with a variety of other cross-cultural and rock influences. Energetic melodies from fiddle, accordion, and flute are backed by explosive Afro-Celtic percussion and driving guitars to create a whole new sound with elements of old Ireland and Scotland.

Fonn Mor's entertaining and entrancing live shows have helped them build a strong and ever increasing following that has brought them to perform at the world's largest Irish festival in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as well as Chicago's Celtic Fest and Muskegon's Michigan Irish Fest. An extra boost to the band's popularity was their signature CD winning two WYCE Jammie Awards.
