The water slides are everyones favorite as they take riders out of the building then back in, the ropes above the lili pad pond never get a rest.

Splash Village in Frankenmuth is the answer to any remaining winter blues you may still be experiencing as we enter spring. If your looking for a break from the everyday routine, Splash Village now offers full and half day passes to their water park.

They have two half day sessions For $25.00, the first is 9:00AM until 2:00PM while the second starts at 4:00PM and lasts until 10:00PM.

The kids and I chose the morning session so we could drive up north that afternoon. It worked out great as the normally boring long "are we there yet?" drive offered them ample nap time from water park energy drain.

Be sure to call ahead for reservations (800-863-7999) to be assured a ticket to aquatic action at the The Splash Landing play area, The Dumping Bucket, Giggling Gorge and Perilous Plunge their 4 story tube slides.

I chose to relax in the Whimsical Whirl Hot Tub and then just floated along the Crooked Brook Creek lazy river with my five year old.

Wet and wild fun awaits all those who venture to Splash Village. Caleb Pijaszek, Brenna Leahy and Logan Pijaszek are having a good laugh on the sea-saw.

For the landlubber in the crew, there are plenty of comfortable chairs throughout to read a book or you can have fun in their Arcade or sip coffee and have lunch at The Elf Hollow Café. If you want to make it a true overnight mini-vacation they have many options with their current special for a Standard room for $109.00 or a Family Suit for $159.00, the family Suites consist of two queen beds, queen sized pull-out sofa sleeper, and sitting area. Family Suites accommodate 4 - 6 guests, they Feature a fireplace, microwave, mini-fridge, 2 flat screen cable TVs with HBO and hotel pay per view, coffee maker, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. Family Suites come with up to four complimentary water park passes.

Their normal seasonal rates range from $209 to $369. So their current special is a great deal but rooms are limited and you have to reserve it ahead of time.

It was a great break from winter and it really made you think about how nice the MI beach's will be in a couple months. Splash Village's hours of operations through May 1st are as follows: April 18-19, 25-26, -- 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. April 13, 20, 27, -- 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. April 14, 17, 21, 24, 28 -- 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. April 15, 22, 29 -- WATER PARK CLOSED April 16, 23, 30 -- 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Zehnder's believes in SAFETY FIRST and their employees were friendly and helpful while keeping the sitting areas and locker rooms very clean!

The water park is fully staffed with certified lifeguards to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

Children under 42" and inexperienced swimmers should wear life jackets, bring your own coast guard approved model or they have the regular orange ones which my daughter had no trouble wearing.

Proper swim attire is required. Swim diapers are available at the front desk. Water toys and non-approved flotation devices are not allowed.

Towels, inner tubes and life jackets are provided at no additional charge once in the park area. No coolers, thermoses, glass items or food not purchased from Zehnder's will be allowed in the water park or public areas.

They have everything from Peanut-butter and Jelly sandwich's to Chicken Wraps and Pizza right at the café next to the pools.

Lockers are conveniently located in the mens and womens changing rooms. You can bring your own small lock or you can rent one at the front desk or at the café.

So if you need a break from the everyday hustle and bustle take a half day and go splash around, you'll be glad you did.

Once the bell tolls twenty times the 10,000 gallon bucket empties on the guests as the screams reach their crescendo
