Marshall, 67 was diagnosed in January with stomach cancer and recently began treatment at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.
A fundraiser was held Monday to offset the high costs of battling the disease. The benefit dinner included delicious BBQ chicken and rib's and was held at Ole Tyme Broadway, 1602 Broadway in Bay City.
Area politicians purchased food for the event. Paper products are being donated by St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 607 E. South Union St.

Many local dignitaries were present to support the efforts to raise money for a man that has served "them" some of the best BBQ at "their" fundraisers for decades.
Outside of purchasing the food for the event, people such as Prosecutor Kurt Asbury and State Representative, Jeff Mayes were cooking AND serving up mouth watering BBQ to those who came to Ole Tyme Broadway to support the cause!
Others present were Bangor Township Supervisor, Terry Watson, Bay City Mayor Charles Brunner, former Mayor Mike Buda, Judge Timothy Kelly, Sheriff Miller and Senator Jim Barcia, just to name a few.
The outpouring of support from community members was heart warming.
