The Bay City Woman's softball season has gotten off to a rousing success with over 275 signing up to play on 19 teams.

MyBayCity would like to thank Bay City's Two Men and A Truck (Ashley Anderson) for sponsoring coverage for the 2008 season.

President of the league, Dora Salinas was happy to hear that the leagues will be getting coverage here every week, "That's great, the teams will Love it," said Dora recently during a phone interview.

Dora informed me that the women also have their own web site www.bcsoftball.org that posts rain-outs and when they will be re-scheduled, recent rules changes, standings and schedules.

Although no schedules or teams are posted to the site yet, by the looks of the action down at Vets, each team knows what league and what night they're playing.

According to the bcsoftball site the womans leagues are made up of three leagues, A, B, C.

A League is the most competitive league. Most teams in this league are classified as C and D according to ASA guidelines. 2007 games were played on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

B League is a semi-competitive league. Most teams in this league are classified as E according to ASA guidelines. 2007 games were played on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

C League is a recreational league where all skill levels play. Most teams in this league are classified as E according to ASA guidelines. 2007 games were played on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Night time action in the Womens League is heating up as these two teams pushed runs across the plate.

As of Friday there were still no standings posted but as soon as they get posted, MyBayCity will provide a link in this article every week.

If you would like to have your team mentioned and individual performers mentioned please submit me an email at Kevin@MyBayCity.com, noting the night you play, your scores and highlights from your game with proper spelling of those individuals who had a good night and we will be sure to mention them here.

Be on the look out for the MyBayCity cameras down at your games, I'll be out handing out our business cards, taking shots and getting names at the games.

So good luck this season, may you get on base every time and be error-free in 2008.
