Austin Tremble is just twelve years old but at 5'9", he plays head and shoulders above his peers at NELL.

"That was his third homerun, his first two were grand slams in earlier games," said his dad and assistant coach Al Tremble after Austin knocked one over the scoreboard during action Friday night.

After Noah Pavlawk's sacrifice RBI back to the pitcher, Austin also had a double for another RBI to make it 5-3 in the third inning for FOP 103. FOP 103 went on to post a 6-5 win over Mama Lupo's.

Sean Reilly pitched for FOP and recorded many strikeouts.

Referring to the pitch limit rule the Little League of America instituted last year that allows seven and eight years olds 50 pitches a game, nine year olds 75, and ten and up 85, then they have to skip a day and a game, coach Tremble had this to say, " I don't like it, they should raise the limit a bit so kids can get complete games, maybe just up it to 95 or 100."

Tremble was referring to the many games where pitchers are forced to relinquish their duties in the middle of pitching no-hitters because they reached their limit.

"They do it to save their arms but I think they should just ban curve balls or any pitch where the pitcher has to break their wrist, the umpire can make that call behind the plate," said Jerry Weller often an umpire and whose son Owen pitches in the SELL.

Jamie Neal was excited when she approached the majors field at NELL just after her nephew hit a double. "My nephew Cody just got a hit over there then Ben got one over here," she said after coming from the minor league field. That's the way it goes as parents and relatives are torn between which kid to watch as two and sometimes three kids are playing at the same time. "It really makes it tough when you have two playing here and another playing Pony League," said Al Tremble.

Fan support is huge to the kids and they beam with pride when their relatives witness a good play.

The weather finally warmed up and so has the action down at the Little League fields. Take in a game. You will not be disappointed.
