Coach Tim Ahler was proud and happy about the performance of his Girls' Rec softball team on Tuesday night at Veteran's Park in Bay City.
Ahler's Shot & Shell team scored early and often and then held on to defeat Wolverine 19-6 in Women's Slowpitch Class "B" competition.
Strong winds out of the West played havoc with pitching form early in the evening as walks were the norm during most of the game.
Shot & Shell pitcher, Kym Whiteherse, went the distance for her team in posting the win. "The wind was really a big deal most of the game," Whiteherse said. "It was really blowing hard across the field."
The win evened Shot & Shell's record at 5-5 in league play.
