Kelly Moszyk knocked in four runs with two key base hits and then pitched her Bailey's Women's Class "B" team to a 5-0 win over Dr. Cummings on Tuesday night at Vet's Park.
Bailey's Manager, Melissa "Lil 'Bossi" Kraych was pleased with her teams' performance as the league leaders ran their record to 10-1 with their shutout win on Tuesday.
"We were the worst team in the league last year," Kraych said before the game got underway. "But this year, we're doing pretty good," said Coach Kraych, who also plays a solid second base for Bailey's.
It was the Bailey's team defense that kept Dr. Cummings off the scoreboard for the entire game and proved to be the difference in the game.
In the first inning, Kraych walked to load the bases and Kelly Moszyk singled to bring to runners across the plate.
In the third inning, Tricia Trea singled for Baileys and moved up on an infield hit by Kraych. Moszyk followed with a two-RBI single to up the lead to 4-0.
In the sixth, Bailey's added an insurance run when Melinda Reese doubled and moved to third on a single by Sarah Nelson. Ashley Henson followed with an RBI single and Bailey's had their winning 5-0 lead.
