In a familiar rivalry, host South West Little League twelve year old all-stars took on North West for all the marbles and the opportunity to represent Bay City in the State regional tournament hosted right here in Bay City starting Friday.

In a classic familiar battle that had Northwest jump out to a 4-0 lead over their host, Southwest would not be denied as they came roaring back to win 11-5 in dramatic last inning heroics and remain unbeaten in tournament play.

The win vaults Southwest into the state tournament on the 18th held at Southwest and Northeast Little League fields.

This Southwest team is no stranger to pressure cooker games as this team finished first in the state as ten year olds, third in the state tournament as eleven year olds and now have another chance to bring home the big trophy and play in the Little League World Series if they keep winning...and they do know how to win.

"There's no luck involved, Its all about encouraging the kids to play how they are capable of playing and having the courage and confidence to win," said coach Mike Freed during action when his team was down 5-2 against Northwest.

"No pressure, no pressure, this is what its all about," repeated coach Freed.

Northwest had there number one closer Brett Adcock on the mound in the sixth to seal there win and get to the re-match tournament Championship the following day.

With a runner on second Southwest's Scott Badour hit a line shot off the wrist of Adcock. Seth Freed scored from second and Adcock had to leave the game.

SWLL started the tournament with a 16-1 win over SELL.
