The Eddycat sailed again this Summer -- From Veteran's Park in Bay City across the Saginaw River to be greeted by a handful of well-wishers near the dockage for the Appledore fleet.

A Bay City crew has worked this winter in a shop along the Saginaw River recreating the prized sailboat of a little shipbuilding company that flourished over a half-century ago.

The result of their efforts was showcased a few weeks back when the team launched the Eddycat at Veteran's Park in Bay City, Michigan.

The general consensus is that an Eddycat boat has not sailed on the Saginaw River since the late 1940s.

The Saginaw Bay Community Sailing Association's boat building instruction class was responsible for the start and completion of the project.
