The 12th Annual Nathan Weidner Chicken Barbeque went off without a hitch again in 2008.

"It's just so wonderful every year," said Weidener Public Relations Director, Mary Garcia. Garcia was sitting with Delta College scholarship winners Alexandra Marvin, Jennifer Christensen and Raquel Flores. Raymond McIntosh had already left for the day. "We've given out over $200,000 in scholarships since we started," Garcia said proudly.

Corporate Gold Sponsors for the event are: T&T of Saginaw, Wirt Stone Dock - Doug Wirt, Independent Bank, Supreme Floor Covering Inc., Dore Riverview Complex, Maxwell Pitts Co., Charter Communications, and Dow Corning Corporation.

Garcia said (as usual) the weather has been touch & go. "But everybody's enjoying themselves, eating chicken and supporting this wonderful cause," Garcia said.
