Stitch Wizner switched to blooperball in 1962 at the age of 42.

Forty-one years later on August 11, 2003, Wizner notched his 600th blooperball pitching win. Truly a record that is "One for the Ages."

Wizner's team (Wizner Tax Service) competed in the Men's Forty-and-Over League that played many of their games at Defoe Park.

I have been covering recreation sports for almost 30 years in Bay County. Stitch Wizner is one of the true classy guys that I have met over the years.

I remember taking Wizner's picture back in 1983 for Bay City Enterprise when Wizner notched his 400th win.

I remember the Bay City Times article when Wizner notched win number 500 in 1992.

Now it's 2003 and Stitch picked up win number 600 on August 11. What a remarkable feat!! Stitch's retirement marks ther end of an era. Recreation sports has lost one of its great gentlemen and one of the game's finest ambassadors.

Next stop for Stitch is the Bay County Sports Hall of Fame. I know he's got my vote.

The sign up in the window above his head says "Stitch Wizner Field - Home of Mr. Blooperball."
