Ogemaw Heights came to John Glenn determined to upset the powerful Bobcats.

In the end, that power was too much has John Glenn steamrollered over the Falcons, 34-6. "The kids played excellent," beamed a happy Coach Miller after the game. "They were driven by a good offense. They showed a lot of persistence and moxie."

He went that way.

Ogemaw shut the powerful rushing attack down the first two times Glenn got the ball. The second stop gave the Falcons excellent field position on their own 44. From there, them moved on down the field aided by a 24 yard pass play. Then #7 John Hughes ran it in from the 5 giving the Falcons a 6-0 lead.

The Bobcats then took the ball at their 20 and started to mount a drive. But a fumble recovered by Ogemaw Heights at the Glenn 43 put the Falcons back in business. The Glenn defense would have none of that as they forced a fumble of their own getting the ball back on their 30.

Then Glenn did something different. They went to the air.

"Ogemaw was putting a lot of guys inside the running area," noted Coach Miller. "We went to the pass on first down which is something we have to be able to do. That was nice."

And nice it was.

QB #7 Richard Watson hit #5 Jordan Schumann with a pass bring the Bobcats to the Ogemaw 45. Then it was Watson to #2 Matt Balen and the Bobcats were on the 13. Tyler Clemons finished the drive off with a short run and with the extra point going wide, it was all tied 6-6.

A third down sack and a good punt return had John Glenn in Ogemaw territory at the 31. A few power rushes later and Tyler Clemons capped this drive off putting John Glenn ahead 13-6.

The Bobcats weren't done yet.

After a good kick and coverage pinned the Falcons at their 15, they went back to the air. Glenn's Schumann intercepted a pass at the Ogemaw 41 and the Bobcats were soon looking for more. A pass to Schumann put the ball at the 23. They then powered it down to the two where #21 Brandon Wrzesinski punched it in for a 20-6 half time lead.

Half time adjustment got Ogemaw back on track. They moved the ball from their 35 down to the John Glenn 8 before things fell apart. #55 David Melenfant came up with a big sack and Ogemaw was stopped on downs giving the Bobcats possession on their own 10.

Glenn wasted little time in getting into their own end zone as Brandon Wrzesinski burst out to the 34 and Matt Balen peeled off a 66 yard run putting Glenn on top 27-6.

John Glenn finished off the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 23 yard touchdown strike from Watson to #82 Ryan Green to finish off the Falcons.

For the night, John Glenn ran for 276 yards with Matt Balen leading the way with 143 on 10 carries and Tyler Clemons adding 107 on 14 carries. Watson also had 66 yards in the air.
