Washington Avenue in Downtown Bay City was lit up on Saturday night for The Grand Opening of The Prime Event Center on October 25, 2008 . . . and GRAND it was!

It was a head-bangers ball as the Prime hosted the Metallica Tribute band 'BATTERY' presented by the Rock Station, Z-93.

The featured band 'Battery' had 'The Prime' Banging as they belted out Metallica hits one after another for a four hour show spectacular!

Metallica fans from all around came to see the 'Masters of Metallica' who were voted "Best Metallica Tribute Band" by MTV and Guitar Magazine.

According to Wendy Dore, (Doreable Entertainment Inc.) there were well over 700 who attended the Grand Opening. Total capacity is 1,000 and it definitely appeared that way.

The Prime showcased its state of the art audio and light show capabilities which was a perfect match for the featured band, Battery.

(Above & Below) There was not a bad seat in the house as the band moved around the several levels of seating and dance floor.

'Battery' kicked off the night with 'Creeping Death' and still going strong four hours later ended with 'Back to the Front'.

The band agreed they were very pleased with the new venue and the audience of over 700 and said they would surely be back to Bay City.

Tickets were sold to raffle off a Battery signed guitar. (Shown below.)

Winner of the guitar was Pam Dorn of Bay City. Dorn said she will give the guitar to her son who is 13 years of age and plays guitar.

The Prime Event Center has over 17,000 square feet which includes, a main stage, several levels of seating, dance floor, VIP Balcony (with private bar,) and dressing rooms.

Visiting the VIP Balcony, and enjoying the show, Art Dore, Owner of The Prime Event Center and Penny Warner smile for MyBayCity cameras.
