There's a "BUZZ" in the air . . .
And it's coming from Charter Mainstreet -- Charter Channel 5 (Bay City/Saginaw) and Charter Channel 25 in Midland.
The Tri-City's newest entertainment production is the brainstorm of local communications guru, O.J. Cunningham. Cunningham, along with the savvy "video tecchi" Lori Maxson of Northstar Video, have developed the show's concept during the past two months.
Cunningham, who is the publisher of MyTriCityNews.com and MyBayCity.com as well as a varied syndicate of online newspapers says that TricityBuzz Television is a natural extension of the online newspaper franchise.
"We're a good-news oasis," Cunningham says. "Readers come to MyBayCity and MyTricityNews for a breath of fresh air," Cunningham went on. "Viewers get the same thing at TriCityBuzz Television."
One particular segment of the Buzz TV Show is the "Movie Quote of the Week." A quote from a famous movie is read and viewers are asked to go to the
TriCityBuzz.TV Web Site and enter their guess at the name of the movie.
After the show runs for a week, a random drawing from all correct answers is made and prizes are awarded.
The TriCityBuzz TV Show, now in its 6th week (Charter Channel 5 in Bay City/Saginaw and Charter Channel 25 in Midland) has had two winners (PICTURED ABOVE).
In the first week, Mark Short correctly identified "Klaatu Barata Nichto" as a quote from the 1950's sci fi classic movie --
The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Sally Mayhew was the second winner when she identified the Dirty Harry/Clint Eastwood line from the movie
Sudden Impact -- "Make My Day." (Many submitted the name of the character, Dirty Harry, as their answer.)
