Most estimate that it would take $21 Million to buy out the last 6 years of Charlie Weiss' contract at Notre Dame. Before the loss to Syracuse and the humiliation at Southern Cal, I was still a Weiss believer.

Now I want to know where to send my donation for the buyout.

I keep checking . . . but the click here to "BuyOutCharlieWeiss.com" web site is still not operational.

Before the game started, I knew that the USC defense was number 1 in the country. But hey, we got Jimmy Clausen to Golden Tate.

Before the game started, I knew that Notre Dame was lackluster on offense and pitiful on defense. But the boys will be fired up after being embarrassed by Syracuse. Wrong AGAIN!

UNSETTLING: USC was favored by 30 and USC coach Pete Carroll's Southern Cal Trojans covered the "spread" 38-3.

CNNSI reported (my favorite comment this week in the national media) that:

"The only time Notre Dame truly put up a fight was before the game. There was a brief skirmish about 45 minutes before the opening kickoff after the Irish entered the field down the tunnel leading from the locker rooms while USC was warming up. Law enforcement officials and coaches kept it from escalating beyond some pushing and shoving, although a few punches were thrown.

UNSETTLING: No First Down Until the last play of the 3rd Quarter (Ouch!)

UNSETTLING: The Irish crossed midfield for the first time on the second play of the fourth quarter, and got as far as the USC 23 before Brandon Walker kicked a 41-yard field goal to prevent a shutout.

UNSETTLING: Notre Dame's QB Jimmy Clausen completed 11-of-22 passes for 41 yards with two interceptions.

41 YARDS?

Here's some light INTERNET reading -- just in case you're not up to speed on the Charlie Weiss/Notre Dame saga.

All About Charlie Weiss

In the meantime, going to go read the latest book by Lou Holtz about Notre Dame integrity. (That was sarcasm).

You "Domers" live in a fantasy world. The legend of ND is no longer reality. Charlie or no Charlie -- No more national championships for the Irish. Go to the Big East in football, too. Maybe you could be a bigger fish in a smaller pond. ----->>The Dog Has Spoken
