Right from the tip-off, Nouvel's determined team scored two points and sent the Cougars a crystal clear message: "We're here to win". The Cougars knew they'd have to play hard if they wanted to come away with a W over Nouvel. Though the Cougar's defense struggled against Nouvel's powerful offensive, the Cougar's well trained offense, led by #14 Cameron Coburn, managed to keep the Cougars in front 15-12 at the end of the first period.

The story of the second period was not what the Cougars wanted had planned. Turnovers, fouls, and missed shots hurt the Cougars and gave Nouvel plenty of chances to capitalize on. Nouvel would capture the first half 30-24. The Cougars headed to the locker room knowing they had to make up a considerable deficit and not let up.

The Cougars came out of the intermission and hit the court running. Key shots and good plays allowed the Cougars to knot it up 38-38 with two minutes left in the third period.

Unfortunately Nouvel would retake the lead and capture the third period with a one point lead 41-40. This hard-fought game would be decided in the fourth period.

In the first few minutes of the fourth, Nouvel had all the momentum in their favor and easily put an 8 point lead on the board. But the Cougars weren't finished yet. Two key lay-ups and a pair of #20 Adam Pijaszek's three pointers would tie the game 50-50 with under three minutes left in the game. Nouvel would score another two-pointer, and then with exactly 32 seconds left in the game a Nouvel foul would send #34 Mario Walker to the free throw line. With the pressure on, Mario would score All Saints' last point of the game. Nouvel would go on to score three more points in final seconds of the game before time ran out.

The coach of the Cougars is once again Mike Showalter, who last year led his team to a District Title. When asked about his teams performance in the nights game, Showalter said his team "Played hard and hustled" but would attribute the loss to missed free throws. The Cougars record now stands at 2-2. The Cougars will take on Sacred Heart next, and in the words of Coach Showalter "If we keep playing this hard we'll win a lot of games".
