After succumbing to Nouvel at the previous night's game, the All Saints Cougars were determined to capture their third win of the season. The Cougars squared off against Sacred Heart in a defensive battle for every point. Sacred Heart struck first and quickly built up a considerable lead. Thanks to some quick work on offense by #34 Mario Walker the Cougars managed to get in the game and end the first period 14-11, with Sacred Heart hanging on to their narrow lead.

The Cougars owned the second period. Solid defense suppressed Sacred Heart's offense and allowed them to score only two points in the entire period. On the flipside, the Cougars offense was on fire. Key shots from #14 Cameron Coburn , and #3 Aaron Janer allowed the Cougars to build up a strong lead. Time ran out on the fast-paced second period with the score at 25-16 Cougars.

With their lead already built all the Cougars needed to do is protect their lead and continue to put the ball in the basket. The strong defense we saw from the Cougars in the second period was shaken up a bit in the third by Sacred Heart's offensive surge to tie the game. The Cougars still lead with the score at 30-25, but once again the fourth period was the difference for the Cougars.

In the fourth period it was a battle for every single point, and every point was vital. While Sacred Heart settled for battling for two pointers, the Cougars took their chances with shooting for three pointers.

Unfortunately that strategy didn't pay off and the Cougars lost by a scant one point after fighting till the very last second.

Despite the narrow loss the mindset on the Cougars bench was mostly positive. They had played very well till the very end, and had almost walked away with a win. Mario Walker commented that "We need to work on our defensive strategy", and Cameron Coburn said "We let up on intensity, and got out of sync". The Cougars will have some off time to work on their 'defensive strategy' and will return next Tuesday to defend their home court against Mayville.
