The good thing about a break in the schedule early in the season is it gives coaches a chance to address needs identified in early games. But weather cancellations added to the holiday season gave each team more time than they cared for. For both Garber and John Glenn, Saturday's game allowed them a chance to see if the adjustments worked and get their game going.

Garber started the game on a tear. Their high pressure fast pace offense sprinted out to a 13-0 lead before Glenn knew what hit them. But adjustments and some settling down allowed them to finish with a 7-2 run and climb to within 8 at the end of the first quarter, 15-7.

A combination of Garber not finding their rhythm and Glenn riding the momentum allowed them to outscore the Dukes, 14-10 in the second stanza. By the time the horn sounded, the Bobcats had climbed to within four, trailing 25-21.

Halftimes are about adjustments and sometimes, just a chance to regroup oneself. That is exactly what Garber was able to do.

Garber went back to their pressure defense that proved so effective in the first period. They were able to hold the Bobcats to four points in the quarter while capitalizing on turnovers and missed shots to pump in 20 of their own, taking a 45-25 lead by the end of the third quarter.

The scoring slowed in the fourth quarter as more players got floor time. When it was all over, Garber walked away with a 56-33 win.

For the night, Brett Eichhorn led Garber with 14 points while senior Shane O'Meara and junior Jesse Kenniston each chipped in 11. Brett Wesenick led John Glenn with nine points.
