Right from get-go, the Cougars red-hot defense captured the momentum and held it in favor of All Saints all night. Though Mayville struck first, it wasn't long before the Cougars had racked up a 7-2 lead; and forced Mayville into calling a time-out.

The Cougars built up their lead to a formidable 16-2. Only the 1st quarter buzzer was able to stop the Cougar offense.

Mayville managed to sink a couple key shots early in the second period, but not nearly enough to slow down the Cougars aggressive game play. The Cougars added 11 points to their score with shots from #5 Drew Janer, and #41 Thomas Villano and an assortment of other Cougar combatants. The game score favored All Saints at the end of the half with the score at 27-11.

The Cougars started off the second half a little sloppy, but quickly woke up on defense and continued to add to their lead. Terrific rebounds, and timely breakaways from the Cougars' stellar defense continued to smash Mayville's desperate attempts at a comeback. With only one period left the scoreboard read 38-21 in favor of All Saints.

With Cougar supremacy clearly established on the court, Coach Showalter let every Cougar have a chance to add to their score; and they sure did.

The Cougars continued to shut down Mayville's offense and blasted away at the other end of the court. Successfully adding 23 points to their score, the Cougars carried the day 51-26.

Coach Showalter says his team "Came out early and had aggressive defense", but despite the Cougars victory he knows his team can do better and also said his teams "Needs to shoot the ball better". The Cougars will hit the road to take on Cass City and then return home late next week to battle with U.S.A.
