Garber entered the game knowing what they had to do: control Andrew Holbrook and Lucas Foco. But knowing what you need to do and being able to do it are often easier said than done. The Dukes found this out the hard way as the dynamic duo combined for 47 points to defeat Garber, 60-48.

Pinconning and Garber both displayed strong defense in the first quarter. Neither team allowed the other to get good looks at the basket as the Spartans ended the quarter with an 8-7 lead.

The second quarter saw Pinconning get their offense on track as they powered out to a 13 point lead halfway through the quarter. But Garber isn't without its own weapons including Brett Eichhorn. The senior point guard got hot and spearheaded an attack that brought Garber to within five points at the half, 27-22.

Then, in the third quarter, Holbrook and Lucas took over the game. Utilizing Holbrook's outside game and Lucas' inside game, the two combined to score 15 of the Spartans 17 third quarter points. Meanwhile, the rest of the Spartans tightened down the defense holding Garber to 7 points and giving Pinconning a 44-29 lead.

The fourth quarter saw Garber make a valiant effort at coming back. But 15 points is a big mountain to climb. The Duke's quickness generated 19 points only to be matched by an equally quick Spartan team's 16 points. The end result was a 60-48 Spartan victory.

Andrew Holbrook led Pinconning with 24 points followed by Lucas Foco's 23. Garber's Brett Eichhorn matched Holbrook with 24 points of his own.
