Having suffered two recent losses to conference powers, Garber was ready to take it to a Bay County rival in Western. Right from the tip-off, Garber put the pressure on Western with an attacking offense and tight defense.

While it took a bit for the Duke offense to take full advantage of the turnovers they were able to generate, they were able to forge a 9-0 lead before Jessica Costello could get Western on the board with 2: 43 left in the first quarter. Once that seal was broken, the Warriors responded to outscore the Dukes 11-5 for the remaining minutes to put to within 3, 14-11.

Garber then took advantage of the Western press as they made quick passes down court for easy lay ups while mounting a 27-16 lead half way through the second quarter. The teams traded baskets the rest of the quarter allowing Garber to maintain a half time lead of 37-26.

Unable to work the ball inside on Garber, the Warriors went to their perimeter shooting to get things going. As the shots didn't go, Garber took advantage by moving the ball up quickly and attacking the paint with penetrating drives by Molly Braun and Kelsea Zimmerman. As a result, the Dukes outscored the Warriors 16-8 in the quarter to have a commanding lead at the break, 53-34.

Western turned to a full court press to try and get back into the game. But the toll from the previous night's game was evident as the Dukes threw numerous long passes to wide open players for easy uncontested baskets as Garber forged ahead. The games soon deteriorated as it got physical and a parade to the free throw line slowed the rhythm of the game. In the end, Garber won 67-47.

Garber was paced by the back court duo of Kelsea Zimmerman and Molly Braun as they both scored 14 points. Katie Neering added 12 for the Dukes.

Western was lead by Erin Moeggenberg and Jessica Costello who both scored 10 points.
