Pinconning Girls Apply Pressure To Beat Alcona 60-29

Pinny's Lauren Pilot led all scorers with 22 points

Pinconning used their speed and quickness to get a jump on Alcona. Quickly going to their press, the Spartans kept Alcona from getting on track while they started to add up points. By the end of the first quarter, they had a 15-8 lead.

Alcona started to show signs of life in the second quarter until Pinconning switched from their man-to-man pressure defense and employed the zone. This kept Alcona off balance as the Lady Spartans added 5 more points to their lead, 32-20.

Pinconning looked to put Alcona away in the third quarter as they employed their swarming defense. Intercepting passes and pressuring shots lead to a 19-5 third quarter edge and a huge 51-25 lead.

The fourth quarter saw much the same as Alcona was held to 4 fourth quarter points in going down in defeat, 60-29.

Lauren Pilot led all scorers with 22 points while point guard Jessica Vidalez added 20.

Lauren Silver tallied 10 points for Alcona.

The girls fought hard all night.
