The night was more than just an opportunity for John Glenn to get back on the winning track. It was a night for a teammate, Laura Bluhm, to score her high school career record of 1000 points. No small feat. But as Laura would tell you herself, the record would not be quite as sweet without a Bobcat win. She and her teammates took care of that.

From the opening tip off, John Glenn was aggressive. They attacked the Whittemore-Prescott defense leading to open shots. Needing 16 points to reach the 1000 point career mark, Laura Bluhm went right to work pouring in 11 points of her own. By the time the quarter had ended, John Glenn and Laura Bluhm were well on their way to accomplishing their goals with a 17-3 lead.

With Bluhm's goal in sight, the Bobcats kept up their relentless pressure adding to their lead. The only thing that stopped the Glenn attack was Laura Bluhm herself. Hitting a mid-range jumper half way through the second quarter, all play stopped as she was presented with the game ball for her 1000th point.

While records are enjoyed most when they come with a victory, Laura Bluhm put the ball back into play reserving the memorabilia for after the game when she could note a Bobcat victory on it. The team responded as they raised their lead to 33-16 at half time.

The Glenn intensity didn't let up entering the third quarter. Playing a tough zone defense, the Bobcats expanded their lead by 7 more points as they took a 48-25 lead into the fourth quarter.

On a night to be remembered, the Bobcats never backed down. Staying with a suffocating zone defense, they insured the victory out scoring the Cardinals in the final quarter to insure Laura Bluhm's memory of the special night included a victory, 61-32.

Quite fitting, Laura Bluhm lead all scorers with 20 points, with Breanne Krager and Audrey Oleniacz adding 8 for the Bobcats.

Kathy Fortin led Whittemore-Prescott with nine points. We have been looking forward to it (her scoring record) for a couple of weeks now. It's nice to have it finally here. Its great that it is at home cause we were a little discouraged that it wouldn't have happened at home, but it happened at home so its great.
