Frankenmuth came out aggressive, looking to attack the basket with penetrating drives and occasional dishes. While Garber's Mike Schroeder held off the initial attacker, the extra bodies overpowered the Garber front line for second chance baskets. Meanwhile Garber looked to move the ball on the perimeter settling for long shots or passes inside. The strategy favored the Eagles as they jumped out to a 19-10 lead.

The pace changed in the second quarter as both teams looked to push the ball up court. The faster paced game was more to Garber's liking as they powered their way back to within four points half way through the quarter. Frankenmuth slowed things down to the first quarter pace and got some of that back but the Dukes kept attacking and pulled to within two with two minutes to play. The Eagles then went back to assaulting the middle again and the extra bodies helped them build the lead back up to 8, 40-32.

The third quarter started like the first with both teams content to walk the ball up the court and not press. The Eagles went back to their slashing and attacking the middle but with Mike Schroeder seeming to gain strength as he defended off the attacks.

Brett Eichhorn took over the point position for Garber and seemed to lull the Eagles to sleep at times with his easy look around dribbling then burst to the basket opening not only shots for himself but dishes to teammates. The tactic worked as the Dukes pulled to within 1 point with two minutes to play. But Tyler Gray hit a three pointer to get push the Eagle lead to 4 by the end of the quarter, 53-49.

The fourth quarter saw a different Garber team take the floor. Coming out inspired and aggressive, they swarmed the Eagle players forcing turnovers and generating points. Jake Hebert spearheaded the tenacious defensive surge and quite fitting hit a three pointer at 6:19 to give Garber its first lead of the night, 56-53. Frankenmuth's Tyler Gray responded by hitting a three of his own to knot the score 58 all with just over four minutes to play.

Unable to do any damage inside thanks to "Chairman of the Boards," Mike Schroeder, they turned to a perimeter offense with a low post player. But the Garber guards, with their tenacious quickness forced turnovers that quickly resulted in points. This pushed Garber ahead for a 66-62 win.

Garber sported a balanced attack led by Jake Hebert with 18 points. "Chairman" Schroeder scored 16 points with Brett Eichhorn adding 14 and Jesse Kenniston chipping in 10.

Tyler Gray led the Eagles with 17 points. Ben Deschaine powered the inside with 12 points while Matt Bender and Matt Cramer added 8 each.
