Playing a ranked team often brings out the best in your team. Playing 10th ranked Reese did just that for Pinconning. In the end, Reese showed why they are ranked tenth.

Reese took the opening jump ball and promptly hit a three point shot to start the game. Pinconning came right back and the two teams went toe to toe the rest of the quarter. By the end of the quarter, the Spartans held a one point lead, 20-19.

Inspired by their first quarter play, Pinconning kept up their fast pace game looking to push the ball up the floor every chance they got. Their effort along with Jessica Vidalez's sharp shooting with help from Lauren Pilot, helped build a four point lead half way through the second quarter.

While Reese may have originally been looking forward to their next nights game against league rival USA, Pinconning had clearly gotten their attention. The Rockets put their running game in high gear and overtook the Spartans to hold a 37-34 halftime lead.

Reese started the second half with a press that smothered Pinconning. The Spartans struggled connecting passes under the pressure which Reese pounced on transforming turnovers into points. The pressure limited any Pinconning attempts at points as the Rockets outscored Pinconning 22-4 to take a commanding 59-38 lead going into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter saw Reese ease up on the pressure but they were solidly in control. Still fighting hard, the Spartans were not able to overcome the deficit and fell to Reese, 81-53.

Jessica Vidlaez lead the Spartans with 25 points while Lauren Pilot added 12.

Reese was led by Jade Ackerman who scored 17 points. Amber Gotham and Kristin Reinbold each added 12 and Kalee Karwat chipped in 10 for the Rockets.
