CDI's main focus is networking and talking to those organizations in need. They spend their advertising dollars in the old-school, face-to-face manner by involving themselves in many area organizations, attending events and being available to the public 24/7 exploring new ideas to give back to the community.

"Michigan may be hurting right now, but if people pull together and learn from others mistakes we can be ahead of the curve. Our focus remains to get those hurting, back on their feet," says Bauman.

Champion Diversified Industries Inc., raises funds for many organizations such as the blind, veterans, cancer victims, children and more. CDI hosts two Christmas parties in Michigan annually in conjunction with the Marine Corp. League Department of MI and American Legion Post 18 for VA hospitals, one in Saginaw and one in Grand Rapids.

"Our company is an established entity with fresh faces who are all go-getter, young people who share the same passion as I do. We all understand the importance of growing our community and giving back to it," says Bauman. Ms. Bauman and her crew also understand the importance of volunteer work throughout the community. CDI is involved in many events such as the Pheasant Shoot for Bay Medical Foundation, Brian's House, Lions Club, American Legions, Bay County Fair, Moose Lodges and more.

"We not only focus on raising money for these entities, but realize it is crucial to volunteer in the communities we serve as well," says Bauman.

Bauman is a member of the Young Professional Network, Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitors, Michigan Festivals and Events Association and much more!

Champion Diversified Industries Inc., works with many entities not only throughout the state of Michigan, but throughout the entire United States striving to generate money and bringing it back to our community.

Champion Diversified Industries Inc., does not only work with non-profits, but with for-profit corporations as well to enhance existing promotional events and creation of future ones. This young crew shows excellence on idea generation, a light bulb of excitement to something that may be stagnant.

This enthusiastic group of young professionals all have a personal story to coincide with their passion to give back to the communities they serve.

Heather Bauman, President of CDI, had endured the wrath of cancer in her family with her younger brother at the tender age of ten. Her brother, suffering from a brain tumor, had medical expenses above and beyond the scope of a savings account. Heather recalls the days in which the community, as well as the health care industry in Ann Arbor would assist her family in the form of social workers, churches bringing baskets to her family at Christmas time and more.

"You can have the best insurance in the world, but when your family goes through something like this, it's difficult to see the struggle to make ends meet. With overwhelming community support, my brother made it through his battle. After that experience, I just could not see myself doing anything else but giving back," said Bauman.

Heather lost another brother at a very young age and her mother is currently suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.

Josh Sharrow, Sales & Marketing Director lost his father at the tender age of nine in an ATV accident, of which, he was riding on with his father when he passed.

Shawn Doyle, Sales Account Manager has a personal and tragic health story to tell as well. Shawn was born with absolutely no abdominal muscles. The rare condition is known as Prune Belly Syndrome and he is one of only two people in the entire state of Michigan with the disease. He has endured numerous surgeries over the years on his heart and kidneys.

As you can see, this group of individuals have been there, seen it, lived it and are driven by it!

Ryan has to undergo five-day chemotherapy sessions in Ann Arbor every three weeks. His blood is drawn every Monday and Thursday to ensure his platelet and white blood cell counts are adequate. The condition is serious, but Ryan does his best not to let it affect his everyday life.

Sadly, Ryan Scott Burpee Jr. lost his battle with Lymphoma the day before the fundraiser at Kingfish. I would like to give my condolences to the family, that cared for and loved Ryan so very much...

Our beloved Ryan, age 6, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Motts Children's Hospital after a valiant fight with Lymphoma. He was born June 7, 2002 in Bay City. Ryan enjoyed playing with is Hot Wheel cars and playing video games with his family and friends.
Surviving are his parents, Ryan, Sr. and Stacey (Commire) Burpee; grandparents: Bob (Joyce) Burpee, Betty Walter, and Cindy (Ken) Commire, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The Family would like to thank all the nurses, staff, and volunteers at Mott's Children's Hospital 7th floor for their kind, caring hearts and love they gave Ryan and his family.
