I've Been Thinking . . .

It seems to me that they tying/winning run is ALWAYS on base when Rodney is in the game.
$20 Burger offered by Grand Rapids Whitecaps.
BIG BUFORD DOUBLE BURRITO -- Rally's Hamburger Corporation announced Sunday that beginning August 15 . . . Rally's will offer the new Big Buford Double Burrito . . .
A spokesman for Rally's said that the marketing ploy is in direct response to Long John Silver's Fish Taco.
"If they can wrap a deep-fried fish inside a hard shell and call it a taco . . . we can wrap two Big Bufords inside a soft shell and call it a burrito," said the Rally's spokesman who asked that we not use his name.
TIGER WOODS -- Sunday afternoon, the golf commentator (during the Firestone Golf Tourney) said that he never saw Padraig Harrington blink. I watched Harrington closely for the next hour . . . and I never saw him blink . . . until he made a triple-bogey eight on the par 4 16th . . . And went from one ahead to three behind. (Now that's funny . . . I don't care who you are.)
FERNANDO RODNEY -- How confident are you when Tiger "Skipper" Jim Leyland signals to the bullpen and calls for Fernando Rodney to come to the mound for the ninth inning "save"?
How long has it been since the Tigers had a "Closer" that the fans were happy to see coming out of the bullpen?
Maybe Rodney is 6th best in the Majors with his 23 saves out of 24 save opportunities . . . But, it seems to me that the tying/winning run is ALWAYS on base when Rodney is in the game.
$20 HAMBURGER -- The West Michigan (Grand Rapids) Whitecaps, a Detroit Tiger affiliated Class "A" minor-league baseball team offers major league cholesterol, carbohydrates and calories in an enormous hamburger at the Fifth Third Ballpark.
The four-pound, $20 burger features five beef patties, five slices of cheese, a cup of chili and lots of salsa and corn chips, all on an eight-inch sesame-seed bun.
Anyone who eats the entire 4,800-calorie behemoth in one sitting receives a special T-shirt.
Me thinks a better idea is to divide it up like a pizza and share. And, by the way . . . You can get a lot of McDoubles for $20.
I don't think I could eat 20 McDoubles . . . but I bet I know a dozen people who could eat the Big Burger at Grand Rapids.

O J
I share your "anxiety" when Rodney comes in. He often walks or hits the first batter he faces. His saves come because often he has a 3 or 4 run lead to work with.
