Winter's last days in Bay City

Last Friday Bay City woke to one of winter's most beautiful displays. There was a heavy fog over the river, the air temp was in the twenties, and there was no wind. That's the combination needed to produce "hoarfrost" which Webster defines as "white, frozen dew on the ground, leaves, etc.; white frost; rime".
For nature lovers, it's exciting to spot returning birds. Doves are checking out theirnest from last year, blue jays are calling, and the neighborhood cardinal is patrolling his teritory.![]() | |
