Spring golf can be hard as weather often means indoor practices or playing in what seems like a snow suit. But as temperatures climbed last week, excitement grew as John Glenn hosted Garber at Bay Valley. In the end, it was the host Bobcats that shed more than clothes as they out-dueled the Dukes, 191-208.
Garber's Tyler Finkbeiner shot the best round of the day when he carded a 6 over par 42. Unfortunately for the Dukes, he was the only golfer who broke 50. Meanwhile John Glenn's four best scores were all within 6 strokes of each other. Cameron Cottrell shot a 45, one stroke better than teammate Josh Schaefer's 46 and fellow classmate Zac Schisler's 48. Jay Kudrow rounded out the Bobcat scoring with a 52.
Garber struggled to master the Bay Valley course as Jake Lobodzinski carded a 50. Matt Martin shot a 57 to best teammate Reed Wisniewski by two, shooting a 59.
And while some of the scores may have risen like the temperature, it was a beautiful day to get out on the links.
