All Saints dealt the first blow to the Ogemaw Bulldogs with outstanding infield work in the first game of this double header; and gave them a taste of the Cougars solid hitting in the second game to finish them off.

It was late in the first inning of the opening game when #6 Adam Pijaszek scored off a single from #14 Kevin Jakubczak. Undaunted, the Ogemaw Bulldogs answered back with a run of their own early in the second.

Doing what they do best, All Saints infielders shutdown any spark of offense from the Bulldogs. With key plays from #9 Matt Mikolajczak, and terrific tags from #4 Justin Gielda the Cougars kept the game knotted up at 1-1 until late in the fifth inning.

With full count on him, #12 Drew Bauer hit one to the Bulldogs shortstop who hung on to the ball to tag#18 Thomas Villano out at 2nd. With one out on All Saints, #16 Jimmy Hunter went in to run for Bauer. After stealing 2nd, Hunter scored off a hit from #1 Josh Sutton. The Cougars then managed to protect their fragile 2-1 lead to win the first game against the Bulldogs.

The Cougars came out big in the first inning of game two, scoring four runs before they were finally stopped by the determined Bulldogs. Hoping to cut into the Cougars lead, the Bulldogs scored two runs of their own off pitcher Adam Pijaszek before the Cougars put an end to Bulldogs momentum.

Unfortunately for All Saints, the Bulldogs shut down the Cougars offense and managed to keep the score at 4-2 when Ogemaw went back on the attack. Continuing their previous surge, the Bulldogs sent two more runners around the bases to tie the game 4-4.

But the Bulldogs celebration was short lived. The Cougars scored four runs in the decisive fifth inning, and All Saints went on to win 10-5. All Saints record now stands at 13-4-1.
