When Pinconning and Garber get together in girls softball, it is always exciting. From extra inning games to slug fests, it is full of fireworks. Tuesday was no exception.

Game one saw garber put the pressure on the Spartans starting in the second inning. Caitlyn Keuvelaar led off the inning with a triple. Nicole Wood and Kara Brewer loaded the bases on bunts as Pinconning elected to hold the runner at third instead of getting the out. Pinconning's Kayla Kazmierski pitched herself out of the jam getting the next two batters.

Garber would score in the third inning. Rachel Bowker led off with a single and Keuvelaar doubled her home giving Garber a 1-0 lead.

Garber added four more runs in the top of the fourth inning. Brewer led off with a single. Then following a walk to Ashley Kerr, Bowker doubled scoring Brewer. Then Wood singled and Keuvelaar drove in the fourth run of the inning giving Garber a 5-0 lead.

Pinconning would respond with three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. After Ashley Mrozinski reached base on a fielders choice, a muffed fly ball and a walk loaded the bases. Then back to back singles by Shelby Backus and Cassidy Vieau narrowed the Garber lead to 5-3.

Garber extended their lead to 6-3 in the top of the sixth inning. After Bowker walked and Wood singled, Carly Weiler drove Bowker home with a double. Pinconning then intentionally walked Keuvelaar loading the bases. Kazmierski then struck out the next two batters and got the third on a ground out ending the threat.

The Spartans fed off this momentum in their half of the sixth. Sending thirteen batters to the plate, they pushed across 8 runs on 8 hits to blow the game wide open. Vieau had the only extra base hit with a double scoring Kazmierski but Rachel Bowkers strike to home plate saw Caitlyn Keuvelaar put the tag on Backus momentarily slowing Pinconning. Three more singles coupled with a walk and an error helped finish off the Lady Dukes.

Garber showed life in the top of the seventh when freshman Ashley Kerr got things started with a single. Consecutive hits by Wood, Weiler and Keuvelaar brought the score to 11-9 as the final.

Game two started off where they left off with each team scoring a run. Garber scored when Rachel Bowker singled and Caitlyn Keuvelaar doubled. Pinconning responded with a run of their own when Chelsea Adcock singled and scored on Ashley Mrozinski's single.

Pinconning added two more in the second. Ashley Balhorn got things going with a double. Then Adcock singled her home and Kelsey Beck singled Adcock home making it 3-1 Spartans.

Garber scored in the fifth when Janelle Urban singled and rode home on Carly Weiler's triple. But Pinconning came roaring right back with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. Singles by Paige Little, Mrozinski and Vieau followed by a double by Chelsea Smith did the damage stretching the Pinconning lead to 7-2.

Garber scored once more in the sixth but couldn't do any more as Pinconning went on to win 7-3.
