It was a heated contest Friday night at South End Little League between the evenly matched Foodland, and A&W.

Both teams managed to escape the first inning unscathed, but it was Foodland who drew first blood in the top of the second. Louis #21, playing for Foodland, sent the ball soaring deep into right field, just out of reach of the A&W outfielder, to drive in Zac #16 . But unfortunately for A&W, Foodland wasn't finished yet. Despite two outs on the board, Foodland hard hitter Brett #20 got a hit off of A&W pitcher Tony #7 to allow Cory #13 to put his team up 2-0.

But A&W isn't known for going down without a fight. A&W caught a lucky break and loaded the bases off of three consecutive walks. Foodlands' pitcher gave two A&W runners a free ticket home off walks before earning a third out off a huge strikeout. Foodland managed to stop A&W's momentum, but the game was tied 2-2.
