It is a great way to spend an afternoon watching kids play ball. And play ball they did as Auto-Tec and Supreme Carpet tangled Saturday afternoon at the Southwest Little League field. In the end, Auto-Tec proved to be too much this afternoon as they defeated Supreme 7-1.

The game played tight until the third inning when both teams got it going. Auto-Tec scored first in the top of the inning. A leadoff single by Carson followed by another single by Zac got the action going. Then when Justin's grounder was misplayed and Ryan singled, the Tecs had a 3-0 lead.

The Carpet men responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Evan laced a double to drive in Aaron who had reached base earlier on a walk. Try as they might, this was all the runs Supreme Carpet could generate today.

The A-Ts brought out the big sticks in the fourth inning. Carson tripled and later came home a run. Then after Zac walked, Justin launched a two run home run giving them three runs on the inning and a 6-0 lead.

Justin provided the final run in the sixth inning. After hitting a double, he came home on a single by Mitchell to make it 7-0, Auto-Tec.

Carson pitched 4 and 2/3 innings for Auto-Tec while giving up 1 run on two hits with 11 strikeouts before giving away to the pitch count rule. Zac pitched the final 1 1/3 innings for the save.

Joe started for Supreme Carpet going four innings and striking out 3. Evan pitched the final two innings striking out three.
