St. Hyacinths Prevails over MCI In SELL Action

Pitching was the key to holding back MCI

In S.E.L.L. action, St. Hyacinth came out strong in the opening inning against MCI. St. Hyacinth scored a run early, then scored again with one man on, on a home run by St. Hyacinth's pitcher Benny #21 to put St. Hyacinth up 3-0.

MCI tried to return the favor in the bottom of the second with runners on second and third base, but St. Hyacinths pitcher sent two MCI batters packing, and a nice catch from Brandon #22 help end MCI's attack.

The score stayed 3-0 favoring St. Hyacinth until the bottom of the fourth when MCI broke St. Hyacinths' shutout defense. Jake #5 stole second and third, then scored off a hit from # 1 Junior. But St. Hy's bounced right back, earning the last out on a timely strikeout.

The sixth inning was a battle for St. Hyacinth. First, while on the attack, St. Hyacinth added two more runs to their total to stretch their lead to 5-1. St. Hyacinth then had to face a desperate MCI team in the bottom of the final inning.

MCI's desperation was somewhat relieved by Zac #7 who sent the ball soaring over the fence for a home run and an RBI. The score stood at 5-3 favoring St. Hyacinth when St. Hy's pitcher took charge and struck out three straight MCI batters.
