It was another disappointing night for Peak Performance, who have yet to win a game. Despite the loss, however, Peak Performance did show signs of life late in the game as they tried in vain to fight off the mercy ruling.

Peak Performance's defense slipped up early, giving Ian #12 an in the park home run off a single that also brought in Jason #21. The score remained unchanged until #7 Brenden crossed home plate off a drive from Ian. Minutes later, another Peak Performance error gave Lions Club another lucky break. This time Lions Club would score two more runs off a miss-thrown ball. Just when it seemed like things couldn't get any worse for Peak Performance, Shawn #20 from Lions Club crushed a pitch deep into center field earning him an RBI and an in the park home run off yet another Peak Performance mistake.

Late in the third inning, Scotty #16 got the ball rolling for Lions Club again with a single that drove in Ian once again. Lions Club now lead 8-0 and were prepared to do more damage. Lions Club had a runner on second and first when power hitter Kozy #23 stepped up to the plate. On his second pitch, Kozy crushed the ball deep into center field and over the fence for a home run.

In defiance to the 11-0 deficit, Peak Performance stuck to their game plan and finally scored at their last at bats in the fourth inning before the mercy rule went into effect. With nothing to lose, and everything to gain, Jayce #22 from Peak Performance stole home to give his team a flicker of hope. Seconds later, with two strikes on the batter, Grant #18 decided it was now or never. Grant stole home to make the score 11-2, and kept Lions club just one run short of a decisive mercy win.

In response to Peak Performances' minor victory, Lions Club put their full weight behind their offense at the plate. Lions Club scored nine runs in the top of the fifth inning, three of them coming from another home run from Kozy, to make the score 20-2.

With this overwhelming lead Lions Club decided to give their younger outfielders some infield experience. This helped Peak Performance to rally and score four more runs before finally succumbing to Lions Club 20-7.
