I recently attended my nephew, Kyler's T-ball game at St. Stan's Field. This particular one was the last one of the season. After the game, they were having a lunch of hot-dogs while handing out team pictures and trophies to each player -- on all teams.

Something my 4 year-old nephew said, while we were walking, surprised me (and others) . . .

It made me ponder on the topic so I thought I would share . . .

As we headed to the concession area after the game, Kyler asked his Mom, "Where are we going?" His Mom explained, to get your trophy, team pictures and have a hot-dog & treats to celebrate.

Kyler's reply to that, and I QUOTE --- "AHHH . . .LIFE IS GOOD!".

My sister and I both looked at each other rather surprised and smiled.

FOUR YEARS OLD! WOW! What a great lesson for this 'FORTY-ONE year old'.

Remember the days when you were younger and the things that made you happy. This four inch tall trophy and baseball card picture of himself was the coolest thing. He couldn't wait to show grandma and his friends. He clutched on to these treasures like an adult clutching on to a prize of a 100 dollar bill.

The headline of this column also relates to my weekend off from MyBayCity coverage. I had time to myself, doing what I enjoy . . . and realizing the simple things in life can make you happy.

Think of the things that make . . . 'Life GOOD' . . . not the things that don't.

And remember a little gesture from you, might be HUGE to someone else and make their day.

(Priceless)

O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightiest still the enemy and the avenger.

-- Psalm 8: 1-2 (KJV)

When the chief priests and scribes of the Jerusalem Temple cringe at the din of children crying "Hosanna to the son of David," Jesus scolds them: "Yea, have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?" (Matthew 21: 16). Jesus' quote, or rather paraphrase, is the main reason "out of the mouths of babes" became a popular catch-phrase.

What a great article! It is so true how adults easily find the negative or easily find something to complain about, when our true focus should be the positive things that make "Life Good". We take so much for granted and it really is the little things that make most of us feel warm and fuzzy inside. Every day we all should find something to be thankful for and something beautiful that we saw today. It would do wonders for our attitude on Life! Great article - words of wisdom from a 4 year old.
